YetepAfter a dominant run in tech house, Odd Mob is stepping back into a more vulnerable space with his latest release, “Never Alone.” Out now on Experts Only, the record marks a meaningful shift for the Australian producer — one that feels less like a pivot and more like a homecoming.
For the past few years, Odd Mob has been synonymous with high-energy, club-shaking tech house. His productions have been built for packed dance floors and late-night chaos. But behind that wave of punchy basslines and infectious grooves was a quieter reality: grief.
In speaking about “Never Alone,” Odd Mob shared that it became difficult for him to produce melodic music during a particularly heavy period in his life. The emotional weight made it hard to sit with the vulnerability that melodic production often demands. Instead, he gravitated toward tech house, a sound that allowed him to channel energy outward, into movement, into momentum.
Now, with “Never Alone,” he returns to that melodic space. The track carries an emotional undercurrent that feels intentional and reflective. Warm textures, euphoric tension, connection, and a sense of release run through the record, making it feel both intimate and expansive. What makes this release even more special is that “Never Alone” hasn’t exactly been new to fans. It’s quietly lived inside his sets for a while, a hidden gem woven into festival moments and late club nights. Those who’ve caught it live already know the feeling. It’s like a moment of reflection and peace amongst chaos. Releasing it through Experts Only feels fitting, as the label has quickly become a home for forward-thinking club records that balance underground credibility with emotional depth, and “Never Alone” sits comfortably in that lane.
More than anything, this release feels like a full-circle moment. Odd Mob isn’t abandoning the tech house energy that’s defined his recent run; he’s expanding again. “Never Alone” signals an artist who has processed, evolved, and is ready to reconnect with the melodic storytelling that first shaped his sound. And if this is the beginning of a new chapter for Odd Mob, it’s one worth paying attention to.
In just a few weeks, Odd Mob will headline our massive Phoenix Warehouse Project Anniversary celebration. You can catch him, Loofy, Zoe Gitter, and more this March 13th at Warehouse 215 in Phoenix, AZ. Get more info and grab your tickets here!
