YetepSame Same But Different is expanding its world beyond the beach. The beloved independent festival has returned with SUBmerged, a four-show bass series at San Diego’s Spin Nightclub, transforming the venue into an underwater playground where the music runs as deep as the ocean.
The series kicks off April 25 with Dirt Monkey, the Colorado bass veteran known for his signature funk-infused, wubby sound, alongside rising experimental favorite Jaenga. From there, the dive continues June 20 with Late Night Radio bringing his soulful blend of hip-hop and electronic beats, followed by a special guest on July 11, and closing out August 15 with the vibrant energy of Maddy O’Neal.

But SUBmerged is going far beyond just the lineup. The production team is going all in on atmosphere, filling the club with glowing jellyfish, drifting bubbles, oceanic lighting, and an octopus taking over the DJ booth. Expect mysterious underwater characters roaming the floor, blurring the line between nightclub and deep-sea fantasy.

For those who have experienced the magic of SSBD’s flagship festival on the shores of Lake Perris, SUBmerged offers a chance to step back into that world in a more intimate setting. And for newcomers, it’s a perfect introduction to a festival community built on creativity, connection, and a whole lot of bass.
The first wave arrives April 25. Grab your gear and dive in.
