YetepFinnish producer and DJ Otto Yliperttula, who goes by Yotto, is known for being “a man of many sounds,” according to Billboard, and we couldn’t agree more. The 31-year-old producer blends a variety of genres into his deep house style, resulting in an experimental and melodic sound. He is currently signed to the Anjunadeep label and has also produced music on Joris Voorn’s Green Label. You’ll most likely know him for his successful tracks, “Personal Space,” “The Owls,” and “Aviate,” or his popular remixes of Gorillaz and Coldplay.
This week’s RB Deep in the Mix features Yotto on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix. Take a listen below.
Yotto’s Essential Mix debut will take you on a journey, starting with the mystical opening, drawn from the Beach Boys 1973 classic, “Mt. Vernon and Fairway,” in which a narrator tells the story of a young boy stumbling upon a radio. He turns it on and the ambient sounds of Yotto take over. The next two hours will have you floating, but Yotto brings it back down to earth in the end.
Yotto is a unique talent in the world of deep house, and he’s gaining recognition at a rapid rate. Today Yotto is busy touring the world with appearances at ABGT250, Electric Zoo, Spring Awakening, Coachella, and more. We are counting down the days until he makes an appearance here in the valley at Goldrush Music Festival. Grab tickets here.
