YetepJade Cicada has made his return! Earlier this month Cicada, aka Skyler Golden, unveiled his first release in over a year: a lively, four-track EP entitled Fish Juice. For fans of Cicada, this title is certainly worth the wait. Fish Juice showcases immaculate production and an eclectic sound—attributes which demonstrate exactly why the legendary Dave Tipper has backed Cicada’s career.
It’s apt that the EP commences with the lines “We are controlling transmission.” From the very first track, Cicada’s groovy bass music is sure to make your head bob. Yet Fish Juice is a diverse EP. Cicada brings high energy with “Dusty Lungs,” featuring the expert scratching of Chris Karns, but he also slows down for “Wire Skulls,” an emotion-filled, down-tempo melody. As a whole, Fish Juice serves as a testament to Cicada’s many talents.
Fish Juice is available for purchase here.
