Setting the MOOD for Nicole Moudaber

Nicole Moudaber has a signature, laid-back style: big, black, curly hair, black clothes, and a short, yet tall stature. She rocks this at pretty much every show she plays. It makes it easy to miss her, considering she is dressed like most of the people at her shows. However, if you get the luxury of spotting her in the crowd, she will greet you with a big smile and is likely to say yes to getting a picture with her. She has been known to be appreciative and receptive to fans and engaging with people who enjoy her music.

Nicole, who was born in Nigeria, began her career in the early 90s while living in Beirut, Lebanon, where she first started hosting dance parties for the electronic music scene. She then moved to England where she began to DJ and produce, and was ultimately signed onto Carl Cox’s label, Intec Digital, in 2009. About 4 years later, in 2013, Nicole released her first album Believe on Drumcode Records. The following year, Nicole started her own record label, “MOOD Records,” in which she also released her In the Mood EP. MOOD records has been well-received by the electronic community and often features big names like Carl Cox, Franciso Allendes, Joel Mull, and others. She also has In the MOOD, a weekly radio show where she features her mixes both at the station, and live from various festivals and shows around the world.

Nicole’s passion for music runs deep. She is not only a well-known DJ, producer, and promoter, but she is also involved with a non-profit organization called the Lower East Side Girl’s Club, located in New York, where girls from impoverished families learn skills in things that will give them passion and ambition. Nicole helped create the music section, donating CDJs, mixers, controllers, and other items needed to learn to DJ to this organization.
