YetepIf you’ve ever attended a Seven Lions show, you probably have come to realize that you will never experience a musical journey quite like the one that Jeff Montalvo puts on. In the moments between the lights going down, and whatever grand finale he chooses to end with, you take a ride filled with soundscapes that leave your jaw on the floor. For those of you who caught The Journey 2 Tour, you may recognize his latest release as the beginning of the show that night. “Sojourn” is a captivating collaboration with fellow Ophelia Records duo Crystal Skies that could fall under the “classic Seven Lions sound” category. The song starts with beautiful pianos keys, and then slowly builds into a culmination of future bass, psy-trance, and dubstep, which basically is exactly how a Seven Lions show can be summarized, making it the perfect tour intro. The dubstep most likely stems from the guys in Crystal Skies, who have shown an in your face yet melodically driven sound within their young careers. As is tradition within the Seven Lions discography, “Sojourn” is a testament to Montalvo’s diversity as an electronic artist. You can listen to “Sojourn” below.
As if new music wasn’t enough, Seven Lions returns to Arizona alongside bass heavyweight NGHTMRE for a Release Pool Party for the ages on Saturday, May 11th. This time around, you can expect… well honestly, we don’t even know what to expect when Seven Lions comes to town, so I guess we are all in for a surprise. No matter what, it’s sure to be a damn good time, with two legends dropping some wild sets. You can snag tickets here, and gear up for another journey.
