YetepIllustrious DJ/producer and Hot Creations label boss Jamie Jones has heated up the techno scene with his own flavorful tropical taste of the genre. Jones is a wizard for his multi-tasking qualities, not only continuing to release alluring tracks but also being the founder and curator of the Paradise global event series. Over the last decade, Jamie Jones has concocted his own distinct sound that has allowed for a warmer, more melodic, side of techno to emerge. A product of this is his latest single, “Messing With Magic.” Listen below.
Jones’ muted, fuzzy edit of Anabel Englund’s vocals wraps around you like a heated blanket and tucks you into a deliciously full bassline. Englund’s voice croons for a nearly seductive effect, especially when combined with the deep keys infused throughout the track. “Messing With Magic” is a delightful sample of techno for someone who doesn’t listen to techno. The acid sounds dabbled throughout the end are an eccentric addition that lets this track dance on the line between mainstream and underground.
Let Jamie Jones cast a spell on you this holiday season at Decadence Arizona. Get your tickets here.
