YetepCanadian bass producers Zeds Dead have been a beacon of light this past year, keeping our spirits up with a myriad of music releases, frequent Twitch streams, and most recently, the exciting news of a new label and mixtape.
The duo announced Altered States earlier this week, a brand new label focused entirely on electronic, chill, and downtempo sounds. To inaugurate the label is a 13-track mixtape of brand new original music from Zeds Dead, Catching Z’s, available for streaming and purchase on Friday, March 26, with lead single “late night drive” out Friday, March 5.

The duo’s Deadbeats label has been home to groundbreaking artists like Subtronics, PEEKABOO, 1788-L and more, as it accumulated billions of streams across a steady calendar of 40+ releases annually. Having played played iconic venues like Red Rocks, Aragon Ballroom, Ministry of Sound London, and more, as well as hosting the globally syndicated Deadbeats Radio show, the Deadbeats brand has become a staple in the industry.
Catching Z’s first appeared as a mix series four years ago, showcasing the mellow, more delicate side of Zeds Dead’s production. Ripe with versatile and nuanced Zeds Dead sound, Catching Z’s is an exciting looking glass into what is yet to come from Altered States.
You can preserve the mixtape here and keep your eye out for “late night drive” this Friday.
