Dragan Roganovic, aka Dirty South, is a Serbian-Australian DJ and producer with nearly two decades under his belt. He first emerged onto the scene in 2005 with his debut single, “Sleazy,” and in the years since, has received several Grammy nominations and ARIA (Australia) nominations, collaborated with well-known names like Alesso and Axwell, and released four studio albums.
Dirty South is set to perform at Shady Park in Tempe on December 10th. If you’d like to become more familiar with the producer, or maybe just need some song recommendations, read on for what I consider his top five tracks!
“Sweet Disposition” (Axwell & Dirty South Remix)
Dirty South and Axwell teamed up in 2009 for a remix of The Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition.” The song was later nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording. An oldie, but a goodie, Dirty South’s remix marked a turning point in his career.
“No Captain” (Dirty South Remix)
In 2018, Dirty South’s remix of “No Captain” appeared on Lane 8’s Little By Little Remixed album, along with remixes of other tracks from Tinlicker, ATTLAS, Avoure, Jody Wisternoff, Ben Böhmer, and more. I am a huge fan of Lane 8, so I do not say this lightly, but I adamantly believe this remix is better than the original and it’s been on repeat in my streaming repertoire for several years.
“Kiss from God”
Also another one of my repeats, “Kiss from God” is an original Dirty South Track released in 2020 as an exclusive mint Single with Spotify. Featuring vocals from the talented Anabel Englund, the track inspires goosebumps with its euphoric progressive trance melodies.
“All I Need”
Released in 2019, “All I Need” is another catchy Dirty South original featuring plucky synth work, an uplifting melody, and vocals by Marion Amira.
“Space Between Us”
“Space Between Us” appeared on Dirty South’s 2019 EP, Little Devious, released on Lane 8’s This Never Happened label. With its dark and brooding energy paired with progressive melodies, the track is compelling beyond belief.
