Chopping things up in the dubstep scene, French DJ and producer Hol! has been put into the spotlight and is making big moves this year. HOL! made his North America debut a little over a year and a half ago and has quickly become a crowd favorite. HOL! has dropped an array of heavy hitters like “Somewhere,” his “ID” remix with Monxx & Automhate, and most recently, “Country Riddim,” which has gained a grand amount of attention, even outside of the EDM industry. HOL! hasn’t slowed down either, recently dropping his 10-track self-titled mixtape and just a week later announcing his 2023 headlining tour.
Hearing the sounds of slashing swords and the token “AH AH” sound bite, brace yourself for 11 minutes of HOL!’s unique choppy bass heavy sounds. HOL! mixes 10 of his unreleased filthy riddim or trench (depending on who you ask) tracks, each with its own HOL!-special minimal dark crunchy beat. The mixtape contains a remix, two VIPs, and collaborations with Subtronics, Eptic, Diplo, Kodak Black and Koe Wetzel. Check it out below!
HOL!’s distinguishable sound can be heard throughout this mixtape. From the wompy swinging reverbs of “Poetic Pit” and “Die!,” the inverted flip of “Country Riddim VIP,” the distorted bouncing bass filled drops of “Ding Dong!,””Vibration,””Detonate VIP,” etc. it is 11 minutes of straight heat. Nobody is doing it like HOL! right now and he has put riddim/trench in the industry spotlight.
Not only did we get blessed with the HOL! mixtape, he followed this announcement with his first phase of shows in his headlining HOL! Tour. Which will be hitting over 30 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Of those 30 cities, Phoenix made the phase one announcement! HOL! Will be bringing his heavy riddim/trench tracks to Sunbar on November 22nd. You can get more info and grab your tickets here.
