Sound the alarms, the highly anticipated collaboration has finally happened and there is no preparing you for the madness you are about to hear. Two leading innovators of dubstep Subtronics and HOL! continue to break musical boundaries and continue their golden release streak of absolute bangers. They have teamed up on their debut collab track, “Mind Pluck,” released under Subtronics’ own Cyclops Recordings.
Subtronics and HOL!’s “Mind Pluck” perfectly merged the distinct unparalleled sounds the two are known for. A menacing build with ominous ringing, robotic rising bells, and futuristic harmonies. Ding-dong, the signature hollow distortions paired with the electrifying heavy bass and swinging choppy wubz. The womping alarms send out a warning of the heat and chaos that is about to allude. The track features insane back to back drops, each heavier than the last. After completely being obliterated by the madness of the first two minutes of the track, why not throw in a quick bouncy bass house interlude. The track then ends with a powerful distorted flip and even crunchier bass drop. “Mind Pluck” highlights Subtronics and HOL!’s unique ability to blend genres and create mind melting music.
HOL! shared the following on the new track:
“Working on this track w @subtronics has been such an amazing journey, we started working on the track a year ago and we couldn’t be more happy that y’all get to hear it now.“
Both Subtronics and HOL! have been on an absolute rampage in their careers and have been catapulted into the spotlight as a result. Subtronics (or Jesse Kardon) was recently awarded DJ MAG Best DJ of North America and for good reason. With multiple sold-out headlining shows across the U.S, a continuous release of amazing music, merch and more, Jesse has been on what seems like an unstoppable grind. French DJ and producer, HOL! has been a pioneer in bringing riddim to the forefront of dubstep. His tracks have been so influential to dubstep and have gained him the attention of multiple DJ’s like Skrillex, Svdden Death, etc. His track “Country Riddim” reached two million streams and gained attention even outside of the edm industry. HOL! is currently on his headlining tour along with multiple fire music releases contributing to his quick rising.
Subtronics is making his way to The Slaughterhouse this September in Tucson. You can get more information and purchase tickets here. HOL! will be making a pit stop on his tour here at Sunbar in Tempe, November 22. You can get more information and purchase tickets here.
