Listening to full sets has completely revolutionized my fitness game. If you’re anything like I used to be, you’d simply turn on your preferred gym playlist and start your workout. The issue with that approach is that a typical three-minute song might offer only two or maybe three drops, resulting in considerable downtime that could be filled with more energizing drops. Opting for sets on Soundcloud not only delivers multiple drops in a shorter timeframe but also has incredible transitions, unreleased tracks, and more. Here are five go-to sets I rely on during my gym sessions – big shout-out to the artists who shared these sets!
Kill the Noise & Trivecta Live from Red Rocks 2023
This set quickly became a staple for me upon stumbling across it. Despite the surface level genre conflicts, the set leans heavily into the dubstep realm. Kill the Noise, armed with numerous unreleased tracks in anticipation of his album release, combines mechanical dubstep with timely melodic and live elements, resulting in an electrifying pump-up experience.
Marshmello b2b Svdden Death Live at EDC 2023
A back-to-back performance for the ages, this duo debuted their partnership at EDC Las Vegas in 2023, continuing with multiple collaborations and a tour. While Marshmello may evoke thoughts of pop EDM, this entire set delves into heavy dubstep. The dark dubstep style, intricately layered with complexity in the low frequencies and overall sound design, makes it a treat for bass lovers.
Crankdat – Live at Ultra Music Festival 2023
My go-to set for cardio sessions, this energy-filled performance features numerous unreleased remixes and flips by Crankdat. Blending both bass house and dubstep, the set brilliantly showcases Crankdat’s production skills. Perfect for those high-energy moments when speed is of the essence.
Space Laces – Vaultage // Live from Mission Ballroom
Space Laces, a producer’s producer, shines in this rare “Vaultage” set, delving into his archives for meticulously crafted songs that haven’t seen the light of day. Filled to the brim with bass house and occasional dubstep drops that induce wild reactions, this set is a must-listen for any EDM enthusiast.
GRiZ – Live from Space Camp (Night 1)
Concluding the list with my all-time favorite artist, GRiZ’s recording from Space Camp encapsulates his signature style. Packed with GRiZ’s released and unreleased tracks, including nostalgic edits not played for years, this set is a delightful blend of funk, bass, house, and more. An absolute must-have on repeat for any EDM lover.
