Eliminate is hands down one of my all-time favorite producers. He’s consistently stayed true to his unique style, churning out bangers and pioneering new sounds within the industry. Regardless of the scale of his releases, Eliminate always delivers top-notch sets and music. While he’s had some breakout hits, I truly believe that he’s destined for true headliner status. This year marked the release of his first album, Get Off The Internet, and I wanted to dive into why it’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard.
Eliminate’s style can be loosely categorized as a fusion of dubstep and house, characterized by hollow, sharp notes woven into melodies through intricate rhythmic patterns. Get Off The Internet stays true to this definition while branching out into various genres, showcasing his versatility as a producer. Tracks like “EGOTRIP” and the title track “Get Off The Internet” are trap bangers with heart-pounding melodies. “Come Closer” stands out with its intricate yet simple rhythms that guarantee to get you grooving. Eliminate fearlessly ventures into different genres, evident in tracks like “Dawn,” which delves into drum and bass, and “MOREPWR,” a hybrid of bass house and hardcore elements. This album demands a dedicated listen with good headphones or speakers to truly appreciate its astounding level of detail; each subsequent listen reveals new nuances previously missed.
Eliminate is a boundary-pushing producer who isn’t afraid to experiment with different genres. As EDM evolves into a more genre-fluid landscape, Eliminate seamlessly blends various styles into his music. While experiencing the album is a treat in itself, we’re fortunate to catch Eliminate live at Darkstar this Friday, April 5th.
