While GRiZ enjoys his much-deserved hiatus, his music will live on, and I’m super grateful to still be able to listen to his music and be taken back to so many great memories. One thing I really admire about GRiZ is how he has explored many different genres and followed his heart on what to produce. Regardless of the genre, the production in his songs is top-notch and undeniably GRiZ’s. I wanted to share five of my favorite GRiZ songs that get you in your feels. I hope you enjoy!
“Gotta Push On” by GRiZ, Eric Krasno, Brasstracks
One of my favorite songs ever, this song truly tugs at the heartstrings. It’s a slower song that relies more on traditional instrumentals than distorted electronic sounds. The message is touching, reminding you that you’ve got to push on, and that you can do it. The drop features a beautiful instrumental melody perfectly complemented by the rhythm and amazing vocals. It’s a song to listen to when you’re struggling and need that extra push.
“In This World” by GRiZ
One of GRiZ’s latest songs, though it’s been around for a while as an official exclusive release on SoundCloud. This is a great song asking if there is any love, and in part to remind you that love is the best way to live life. It’s heavily electronic and has long drops that take you on a complete journey. The song also has incredible rhythm, perfect for driving deep in thought.
“Infinite” by GRiZ
This song has truly incredible production and emotional impact, even though it has no lyrics. GRiZ often plays this song with lyrics from other songs in his sets, adding to the emotional impact. It starts off with beautiful arpeggios, and in the drop, the saxophone melody takes command, tugging at your heartstrings. It’s a beautiful song to watch the sunset to and get in your feels.
“A Fine Way to Die” by GRiZ, Leo Napier
This is a throwback GRiZ song that still hits to this day. GRiZ heavily focused on what I call “bass funk” back then, relying on electronic elements to support the typical funk sound. The lyrics are incredible, speaking on living life to the fullest. The drop is fun, with a melodic funk drop followed by a dubstep drop. It’s perfect for taking a walk and appreciating life.
“It’s All Good” by GRiZ, Jessie Arlen
This is such a positive song, and I’m glad to end this article with it. It’s all about perseverance and that even in the dark days, it will be all good in the end. The lyrics are incredibly powerful, with heavy instrumental support in the buildup. The drop is fun and light, with hollow beats creating a positive landscape to dance your heart away. I hope you enjoy!
