WHIPPED CREAM is back at again! This time bringing hip-hop artist Showjoe aboard the vibe ship to bring us “about you,” an ethereal MONSTERCAT romp with lyrics that demonstrate a deep longing in both parties. The track begins with chilling vocal samples, courtesy of WHIPPED CREAM over heavenly drums and synths. She goes on to sing: “I thought about you a thousand times. I know that it is not clearly right. But I still think about you. And I still dream about you. And I still sing about you,” over muffled drums and DEEP pockets of bass.
“about you” sings WHIPPED CREAM as the beat begins to rise. The instrumentals come in at FULL BLAST with contrasting bass sounds and borderline DnB drum patterns. These patterns significantly up the tempo, as WHIPPED CREAM’s vocals are spliced in and out of the track at her own fee will, dancing along with the gorgeous beat. Kicks and claps collide in a pleasant tornado of percussion, as the bass and synths bounce off of each other PERFECTLY. This is an extremely well-layered track with lots to look out for.
The instrumentals suddenly evacuate (except for occasional drops of bass.) It is at this point that Showjoe makes his grand entrance with a JUICE WRLD-inspired flow, mixed with his own voice and brand.
“Where you walking?! Y’all start dropping. Girl, you flawless. Hear that often. Hear me, can you hear me calling? Near me, I need you near me often. And I still think about you. I still dream about you. And I still think about you. I still dream about you.” The claps and kick make their return as the beat realigns itself. WHIPPED CREAM returns to provide backing vocals for Showjoe as he continues to show off his skills. “Inhale, exhale. Give me the love true.” can be heard among other lyrics, bridging one half of the song with the other as the synths return, more intense than ever. The tempo is slightly raised as the beat becomes more and more danceable. WC and Showjoe exchange bars over the instrumentals, occasionally belting it in sync with the beat.
“Out of my bed, out of my head” repeatedly sings WC, as the synths and drums continue marching along. She belts it one last time, as the beat fades out, closing with an A Capella “Out of my bed, out of my head” with extra emphasis. This is an excellent track that fully displays the talents of the collaborating artists. They bounce off each other with the same lyrical themes, demonstrating the longing behind the lyrics with their tone, delivery, and emotions. This is a high-octane track that it sure to get the dance floor popping. Check out more from WHIPPED CREAM and Showjoe below.
