YetepJacksonville, Florida-based producer/DJ OKAYVAL is back with “Techno Sh,” her second release of 2025. The track continues OKAYVAL’s pattern of consistent releases, while showcasing her evolving production techniques. While heavily leaning Techno, the track also contains some House elements. “Techno Sh” captures the red-tinted energy and atmosphere of an all-night warehouse afterparty. Fist pumping kicks meld with intergalactic bass and synth lines. The drop patterns in this one are very interesting. The hype for the first one starts to build before the thirty-second mark, before weaving back to the hook (and a prebuild.) The first full drop features shatter effects, humming bass, and gorgeous sound waves. My favorite track segment has to be the brain-massaging bridge around the two minute mark. The build up to the next drop is welcomed by low rumbles and intensifying drums. “Techno Sh” then free flows like a raving apparition into the next hook. This hook quickly becomes a prebuild. Sweeping instrumentals welcome in the final drop. A drum-heavy adventure with subtle, radiating bass waves. “Techno Sh” ends with one last hook and sample.
OKAYVAL continues on her trajectory and gradual rise through the EDM scene. She is now up to 72k followers on Instagram and gets regular cosigns from artists like Laidback Luke, one of her biggest inspirations and mentors. She is set to perform in cities like New York City (Brooklyn), San Francisco, and Miami in the first part of 2025. I cannot wait to see what OKAYVAL has in store for us this year.
