YetepPete Tong fans listening closely to his BBC Radio 1 show would have caught Thomas Gold‘s new remix of Miike Snow’s “The Wave” on the program a couple weeks ago and now it’s finally out. It dropped today on Axtone Records exclusively on Beatport.
“The Wave” was met with great praise on the Swedish band’s already critically acclaimed sophomore album Happy to You. The Thomas Gold remix will take that to a new level with the stadium-sized, progressive elements Gold has become known for. The track will be featured on Gold’s upcoming debut Axtone Mix compilation Axtone Presents Thomas Gold.
Driving progressive chords match an intense kick snare beat all the way through a build up that’s teased for an almost full two minutes. After a brief vocal break down, the drums are back in to drive the build to the drop with a progressive melody that’ll bring hands up in stadiums across the globe. The whole track has that ‘feel-good’ tone we all seem to love from Thomas Gold.
