YetepJeff Montalvo, also known as Seven Lions, is an American record producer, remixer, instrumentalist and DJ from Santa Barbara, California known for his luscious hair and unique combination of trance and dubstep. Seven Lions’ first significant track was his remix of Above & Beyond’s “You Got To Go,” followed by other lovable tracks like his single “Strangers,” and original track with Ellie Goulding, “Don’t Leave.” He has also released four EPs which have charted on Beatport, and his 2014 EP Worlds Apart charted at No. 76 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Jeff’s most recent release via Monstercat Records, is a delicate collaboration with vocalist Echos titled “Cold Skin.” The beautiful track boasts mesmerizing synth melodies and stunning piano parts that are perfectly married with ethereal vocals provided by Lexi of Echos. “I remember I was at dinner when Tal called me and told me that Seven Lions wanted to make a track with us,” Lexi told Billboard in a recent interview. “I try to not let myself get excited over much, but imagine getting a phone call saying that one of your favorite artists wants to collaborate with you. That was probably the best feeling in the world.”
“Cold Skin” is yet another production that proves Seven Lions’ versatility and determination to let emotion and melody define his music rather than genre. Jeff released the track in the midst of his The Journey tour that will go until December, so the remaining stops should be listening for the lovely new track.
