YetepLast week Calvin Harris teamed up with Frank Ocean and Migos for a new track that we’ve already got on repeat. “Slide” is a laidback feel-good tune. It’s a Summer anthem hitting us just a little early about living a lavish and promiscuous lifestyle.
This may seem like an unusual collaboration, but it’s working in a huge way. The track was trending on Billboard and Twitter within an hour of its release and is continuing to climb the ranks on the iTunes and Hot 100 charts. It’s the first track Frank Ocean has worked on since last year’s Endless and Blonde albums and serves as a great follow-up with similar themes.
Harris teased the release a few days prior on Snapchat. Pieces of the track were played over footage of a casual drive on a sunny, summery day.
The song was co-written by Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean, and Migos’ members Quavo and Offset. The catchy hook has Ocean singing, “Do you slide on all your nights like this? Do you try on all your nights like this?”
We love the carefree vibe of this song, and according to Harris, there’s more to come. “All my songs in 2017 have been sonically designed to make you feel fucking incredible,” he tweeted.
It’s the perfect track to take us into Summer and will surely be added to Harris’ long list of hits.
