YetepA few months back, RL Grime took part in a collaborative effort with Skrillex and What So Not, titled “Waiting,” but before and since then, Grime hasn’t released any solo work since “Aurora” in April of 2016.
Now, the wait is over as RL Grime unexpectedly dropped a new track, titled “Reims.” Showcasing his versatility and genius production skills, “Reims” incorporates elements of future bass and trap. RL Grime sent the new tune to his fans directly to those who are part of him email list, and his message shared:
hello again…
as u may or may not know, for the better part of the last 2 years I’ve been quietly working away on my second album. can’t explain how excited I am to begin sharing what I’ve been working on. as a thank u for the support over the last few years, wanted to send u a free download of my new song “reims”.
lots of exciting things coming this year – here’s to the next chapter.
henry.
How sweet of him to grace his devoted fans with the single directly, allowing them to have the very first listen before the song went live everywhere else. Sometimes after an artist goes into hiding for a while, is when they release their best work. I think “Reims” is a great start, and I can’t wait to hear the remainder of the album!
