Aside from being the BFFs we know and love within the music industry, Bonnie x Clyde’s love for music is clearly cemented within their emotional gravity found in their new track “Torn.” The slick vocals donated by Bonnie strip away any rough emotions you’ve acquired since listening to that trap banger and bring you down to a level of reality which helps you to appreciate the down-to-earth lyrics.
Emotion is an expression not always found in the world of electronic music compared to how emotionally bare “Torn” can seem. The track can sometimes be seen as light in production, but the “beef” of the track comes from the combination of effective lyrics and styles which combine progressive house and minor tech-house elements.
“We all deal with the feeling of being torn in some way or another,” say Bonnie X Clyde of the inspiration behind the new track. “Torn is about expressing your true, raw feelings and coming to terms with them…and understanding it’s ok to need help and to not be ok all the time.”
The avant-garde aspects of the track highlight their penchant for creating new and powerful sounds through the contents of their heart. While they definitely want you to have a good time, don’t be surprised if you shed a few tears along the way. With “Torn,” Bonnie X Clyde are solidifying their fame with biting emotion and clever mixtures of production.
