YetepFinally, after months [ed. more like years] of speculation and curiosity, the French robots, aka Daft Punk, set an expected date for the release of their next album, Random Access Memories.
Without much fanfare, the duo’s long awaited fifth album was added to the iTunes store with an expected release date of May 21 with 13 unnamed tracks waiting to be discovered.
The randomaccessmemories.com website plays the same filter of a funky sounding electro tune that we got a taste of from SNL just a couple weeks ago in a cryptic video. A new ad ran on SNL this past week and the same video played on a building during Ultra Music Festival and SXSW, accruing speculation of a possible surprise show.
The band reps lips have been sealed tight as very little info is out there concerning details behind their new album.
The album will be released through Columbia Records after their significantly publicized signing with the label. Excitement has been growing ever since.
The album is available for digital pre-order at itunes.com/daftpunk CD and Vinyl on randomaccessmemories.com.
Keep checking in for more info as we get closer the the release of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter’s (yes, we name robots now) fifth studio album.
