YetepSession #3 is officially in progress for Avicii’s giant music collaboration project: Avicii X You. Potential collaboration partners are encouraged to create a beat/rhythm inspired from the simple beat provided on the site.
Avicii X You is the world’s largest music collaboration project, created by Swedish DJ/producer, Tim Berg, better known as Avicii. The challenge provides an opportunity for fans, producers, DJs–potential collaborators—to download the music that Berg will provide in sessions to acquire all the different song components for his next single.
Creative submissions for the beat/rhythm are open from Jan. 23-29. Session #4, the “break”, is set to open for submissions on Jan. 30. Sessions up until this point have included submissions to identify a melody and bassline.
Finally, a contribution was chosen as the winning track for the Melody competition. With 25,294 plays by “Kian Sang”, it is safe to say an official melody was solidified. The melody has a very upbeat, “Avicii-esque” feel to it. The two runner-up tracks seemed to run along more of a light piano/trance line. Listen to the contribution winner and the other two finalist tracks here!
Stay tuned for Session #4 to unravel, as well as who the competition winner will be when it comes to the bassline.
