Kyau & Albert are full speed ahead into 2013. They are releasing a new album titled Nights Awake that is said to be for dreamers, believers, and people whose minds and hearts reverberate with the collective energy that is dance music. Just reading that makes me want to listen to the album.
Nights is exactly what an artist album should be. It is epic in its scope and exceptional in its delivery. The duo has put together a perfect sonic tapestry that transcends typical electronic dance music. Let’s just say this release reveals this duo’s true musical brilliance.
Over the years I have befriended these two, and I have watched them hit some highs and some lows. In a recent interview with the duo I asked them about their obsession with producing singles, their tendency to remix, and their relationship with Euphonic. They are actually the founders of Euphonic Records, a label that provides them freedom with their own music as well as allowing time to focus on similar artists like Sebastian Sand, Marc Marberg, and Sonorous.
The new release features 15 tracks ranging from love songs to big club bangers that will dominate the dance floor this year. I have already been hearing “A Night Like This” out, and I am sure several more singles from this release will soon follow. “A Night Like This” and “Another Time” are already getting rotation on BPM (SiriusXM).
Kyau & Albert Collaborate
If you go back and listen to early Kyau & Albert material, you will notice they have progressed quite a bit over the years. They took a hiatus a few years ago, and when they came back they came back with authority. They are focused on creating their own sound, and are creating these timeless tracks during a period in which dance music has never been so popular. They are also focused on collaborating with other big players in the industry.
“We Own the Night” features Stoneface and Terminak, “Euphoria” showcases Ronski Speed, “Could You Fail” has Adaja Black and “Open My Eye” features the one and only Paul van Dyk.
Nights is their third studio album and the culmination of nearly two years of studio work. They also took these tracks on the road in an effort to putting together the best set of tracks possible. That collection of tracks is Nights Awake. The tracklist include:
1. Encounter
2. What Lovers Only Know
3. A Night Like This
4. The One
5. We Own The Night with Stoneface & Terminal
6. Euphonia with Ronski Speed
7. All Your Colours
8. Another Time
9. Open My Eyes with Paul van Dyk
10. What Will Go
11. This Love
12. At Any Time
13. Could You Fall with Adaja Black
14. Nightingale
15. Do You Still Know
This is a love story. This is a broken heart. This is the connection we all share put to music. Nights Awake is not Kyau & Albert’s story, it’s yours.
