YetepOnce again, we take a look at the booming industry that our beloved electronic dance music has become. Now DJs are superstars, drawing massive crowds and selling out stadiums. Make no mistake. These are the golden years of EDM.
Celebritynetworth.com released their 2013 list of the richest DJs and many don’t necessarily surprise (besides, maybe, Pauly D at #21).
For those of you cringing at the unimaginable amount of money some of these DJs are making, you have good reason. Some of these guys towards the top can bring in as much as $1 million for a single night. At the top of the list, Tiësto scored an average $250,000 per night and brought home more than $20 million last year, before the draining 52% Dutch tax rate.
Both members of Daft Punk, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo & Thomas Bangalter, saw their net worths skyrocket them into second place on this list after their massive year of royalties and merchandising due to their recently released Random Access Memories. So much for worrying about their premature album leak!
According to the article, Skrillex doubled his net worth in the last year from $8 millions to $16 million, bagging three Grammys and $15 million dollars in the last year alone.
With new Las Vegas residency contracts flying around amidst the swirl of new clubs, these numbers are likely to continue growing. For those looking to cash in on their ability to spin, now would be the time.
