YetepAmerica’s Disney-trademark-friendly version of Tomorrowland came to Atlanta, Georgia and Chattahoochee Hills in a BIG way this past weekend. ID&T and SFX demonstrated with TomorrowWorld that they’re serious about bringing a unique festival experience to the United States, and I can say with personal assurance that they succeeded.
Having been hooked on the festival circuit for the past five years (both EDM only and otherwise), I feel like TomorrowWorld embodied more of a Coachella vibe with distinct, local culture. The grounds themselves felt like they had been turned into a city that exists for only a few nights a year. There was a post office, brewery, retail shops, local food vendors (as in Atlanta local), a pool club, camp grounds, and even sidewalks. That’s right, even foodies and beer snobs would have been satisfied camping at the festival.
The city transformed a little bit everyday. With the exception of Main Stage and the Q Dance stages, each stage changed a bit each day to reflect it’s host. The Super You & Me stage would become the Smash The House vs Dirty Dutch Stage, the Full On stage would become the TranceAddict stage, and so on. Not sure why Q-Dance was persistent: despite the awesome production, it seemed like one of the less busy stages at the festival.
A rumored 40,000 people attended each day and I’m almost positive that it will grow to larger heights next year. Check out the sets below in case you missed it. Festival die hards will want to add this to their tour next year.
