YetepGareth Emery will release his new album DRIVE on April 1 on Garuada Music. Before then, he will be in Miami during Miami Music Week for a round of appearances. Starting on Friday, March 28 at the Shelborne South Beach with a slot at the “Chuckie Pool Party,” Emery will also appear at the SLS Hotel for another pool party the next afternoon. Later that night, he’ll make his first ever appearance at Space Miami where he’ll perform on the terrace for his DRIVE album launch party. He’ll wrap the weekend with a set on the Ultra Korea stage at Ultra Music Festival on Sunday, March 29.
In other news, the album’s first single “U” is now available. The beautifully crafted love song with ethereal vocals courtesy of Bo Bruce has been remixed by the likes of W&W, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and Scott Kearney. The next single, “Lights & Thunder” featuring Krewella, will be released via Beatport on March 17 and March 31 on iTunes.
Meanwhile, Gareth is featured in “Off The Grid,” a new online show from Complex Media and Magnetic Magazine. The mini-series responds to the absence of a studio not being an issue for most electronic music producers, with everything being available and portable via the ease of DAWs on laptops. In “Off The Grid,” that concept is put to the test: Emery was sent out to remote locations such as the Salton Sea and 29 Palms in southern California desert with a mobile set-up and given the task of producing a track that’s inspired by his surroundings.
