YetepBrillz first made a name for himself last year after collaborating with Diplo and remixing Kill the Noise for Skrillex’s OWSLA record label. The Jersey-bred DJ and producer taught himself how to produce and engineer, starting out doing pop productions and working with bands before moving out to LA and finding his new sound.
He now masters the blend of hip hop and dance music, focusing on funky grooves, cool synth melodies, and hard beats. He just put out a remix for Zedd’s ‘Clarity’ Remixes EP and provided support for Datsik during his Firepower Reloaded tour. We had a chance to talk with Brillz before his show with Heroes x Villains and Bro Safari in New York, discussing everything from video games to the collaborative process and even the new business model for the record industry.
