YetepETC!ETC! and Salvatore Gannaci have teamed up to flawlessly harvest the sounds of dancehall and moombahton for their Dim Mak debut collaboration “Money.” As the lead single off ETC!ETC!’s forthcoming Wicked EP, due out later this year, the track is a musical interpretation of Wall Street’s iconic Charging Bull sculpture. Interweaving a subtle orchestral hymn with vocals from dancehall reggae artist Hawkeye, the track oscillates at an apex of rhythmic claps and humming synths.
The LA native is no stranger to the brand – he’s appeared at several of the famed and not forgotten Dim Mak Sundays parties, and earlier this year, ETC!ETC! made waves with his remix of The Chainsmokers “Kanye” for Dim Mak’s #FreeFridays series. While his tunes have appeared in Beatport’s Electro House, Hip-Hop, Dubstep and House charts, he is most well known for his signature moombahton sound. Over the past few years he’s quickly become a tastemaker in the dance music industry, with regular rotation on BBC Radio 1 and performances at some of the most notorious festivals in the world, including TomorrowWorld, Beyond Wonderland, EDC Las Vegas, and most recently Escape Psycho Circus.
In 2012, Swedish-based Salvatore Ganacci was tapped to remix Garmiani’s “Behind You” for the official Rumble EP package released on Dim Mak. Since then, the Bosnian-born Ganacci has been infusing hip hop, dancehall, and reggae riddims into his work. Through his collaborations with Jillionaire, Trinidad James, and Jamaican collective Ward 21, Ganacci is truly impacting Stockholm’s dance hall scene. On “Money,” his signature sound shines through, adding a unique carribean-flair to the beat.
