YetepSitting at the forefront of the melodic dubstep and bass music movement, ILLENIUM has quickly become one of Denver’s most talked about EDM producers and DJs. Incorporating influences from Seven Lions, Zeds Dead, and Sound Remedy, ILLENIUM creates his own blend of melodic dubstep with his asteroid like bass and intricate melody lines. While some people say that dubstep is a dying genre, ILLENIUM reinvents the style by keeping the melodic aspect of his work at the forefront of his creations.
A few months ago at Soulstice Music Festival in San Jose, Illenium blew the crowd away when he dropped his unheard remix of Flume‘s track ‘Say It’ featuring Tove Lo. Fans including myself have been awaiting its release ever since, and its finally here.
Illenium has had massive success remixing tracks from other big names like The Chainsmokers ‘Don’t Let Me Down,’ and now his remake of the one and only Flume is just as beautiful. There’s just something about his melodic sound being added into an already insanely popular track that makes it just that much better.
Illenium’s remix features a new chord progression layered beneath Tove Lo’s irresistible vocal hooks, and a soft yet powerful drop featuring a staggered future bass rhythm. The remix isn’t a major departure from the original, but can definitely be distinguished as Illenium’s work.
