The Relentless Beat of the Week: SLANDER and YOOKiE Unleash A Monster – “After All”

SLANDER is quickly becoming one of the hottest touring names in the game, with remixes on remixes and a sound that is hard to get out of your head. Finishing up their Gud Vibrations Tour with the one and only NGTHMRE, we may have thought that they would need a well deserved banger break. But, for those of us who were expecting a short fiver for the duo….we were very…very..wrong.

Meeting up with YOOKiE, Slander decided to unchain a literal brain hurricane on us with their new track ‘After All.’

Starting nice and slow, they warm us up with some classic SLANDER piano synths and some heavy but slow vocals by Jinzo. Then come some slow guitar synths along with a line of background trap claps. It’s good, and by this point the heads are starting to sufficiently move back and forth to the beat.

As the track takes us into a faster and faster build-up, we know the drop is going to be something special. But honestly, no one could be prepared for it. I’m not quite sure how to put this drop into words…so let me just replay my reaction for you…

“Here it…here it comes……..

oh ….

OH MY…..

WHAT THE…..

…… i am not okay”

Yes, that was word for word what was released out of my mouth as I listened to perhaps the most shocking drop I’ve ever heard. I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t warn everyone to take some deep breaths, and maybe even do some brain puzzles before listening to this track.

As the track comes to an end, I sit here in a state of shock, with my eyes peeled open, contemplating my entire life. I can’t help but think about hearing this song live, as I’m not sure I’d come out of it alive. But as we like to say…rave to the grave, am I right.
