YetepJennifer Lee, or TOKiMONSTA as she is better known, is sort of a beast! Her career took off in 2010 after attending the Red Bull Music Academy and then became the first female to be signed to the Brainfeeder label; a monumental feat at the time, but one she says she doesn’t want to define her. “At that time, it was significant, it meant a lot to me and probably other females,” she said in an interview with music.mic, “now when I look back at it, I don’t want that to be a defining factor of who I am as a musician.”
It certainly hasn’t defined her as she continues to prove herself on her own terms. She’s put out two full-length albums, 10 singles and EPs, over 20 remixes, and most recently the re-release of her first album, Midnight Menu and a remixed version of her EP, FOVERE.

Her sound and her vision have developed since her early days. In 2014 TOKiMONSTA left the independent label Brainfeeder to pursue opportunities, like launching a label of her own, Young Art Records. The label has already released three albums, an EP, and a re-release. “It’s kind of like my little baby Pokémon. It’s gonna evolve.”, Lee says when asked about the growth of her label.
TOKiMONSTA (feat. Anderson .Paak & KRNE) – Put It Down
TOKiMONSTA is present in every part of her music, from creation to final production, giving each piece a truly authentic feel that sets her apart from others. Her indie/electro/r&b sound is distinct and on top of putting out music on a fairly constant basis, she’s become a regular on festival lineups including EDCO, Camp Flognaw, and Outside Lands.

See all that TOKiMONSTA can do when she takes the stage at Phoenix Lights Festival on April 9th, 2017. Get tickets here!
