RB Weekend Preview: Ookay LIVE, Sandra Collins, Eli & Fur, Four Color Zack and Arius, Tynan, & Hi I’m Ghost

Thanksgiving is here and the food and fun will be plentiful. Almost as important as the food lineup is the lineup of shows we’ve got in the works for ya! What better way to avoid your families intrusive questions and work off all that turkey than dancing the night away with your friend and relatives that are in town for the holidays. Tonight, Wednesday the 22nd, we’ve got Ookay doing a live performance at Monarch and Sandra Collins at Bar Smith. Fast forward to Saturday and we’ll have Eli & Fur shakin’ things up at Shady Park, Four Color Zack at Salt and Arius, Tyran & Hi I’m Ghost at Monarch Theatre.

11/22 – Ookay (Live) @ Monarch Theatre

After premiering his newly crafted live set at Nocturnal Wonderland, EDM superstar Ookay (Abe Laguna) is taking the show on the road. I had the pleasure of seeing the debut performance and promise you this isn’t one to miss. Ookay (Live) marks the debut of a new chapter for Laguna’s artistic style. Much of the unreleased music has an electronica vibe with poppy synth lines and swelling choruses all throughout. With vibrant, 80’s inspired visuals, a plethora of new music, and a keytar, the set is stellar from start to finish. “Lighthouse” feat. Fox Stevenson who will also be in attendance is the first single from this new phase in Ookay’s discography, and rest assured this pop ballad is a highlight of the new set. This is the perfect Thanksgiving pregame!

11/22 – Sanda Collins @ Bar Smith

For almost two decades, Sandra Collins has been claimed “Best DJ” in multiple shapes and forms by LA Weekly, Dancestar, URB, and the Global DJ Awards, proving her style to be of high quality. Sandra Collins has been perceived around the world for her talent, making stops in Romania, Mexico, and even New Zealand. It’s no secret that because of her rooted passion for producing, she continues traveling the world, even making stops at Coachella in 2002 and 2008. 11/25 – Eli & Fur @ Shady Park

Eli & Fur initiated their career in 2013 with their first hit single “You’re So High,” which reached a top spot on Hype Machine. As time went on, the girls committed themselves to their career with numerous collabs and releases. In 2015, they were deemed Beatport’s Artists to Watch and carried out a tour across North America. As a result of their work, they continue to build a dedicated fan built of listeners around the world. Originating in London, Eli & Fur have had a far reach as they have traveled near and far executing their deep bass lines, attractive melodies, and mediating vocals.

11/25 – Four Color Zack @ Salt

Holiday hangover? We’ve got the solution. His DJ name, Four Colored Zack, may be a head-scratcher, but that’s where the confusion ends. With one listen it is crystal clear what makes people drawn to his sets and why he holds the 2012 world cup for the RedBull The3stlye Djing competition. He can tweak any genre to flow in his sets and his songs are nothing short than one of a kind. He creates the kind of music that turns grime into an art form.

11/25 – Arius, Tynan, & Hi I’m Ghost @Monarch Theatre 

This DJ duo Arius consists of Matt Nguyen and Tessa Lizz. Matt and Tessa have been performing together since 2013 and are known for their dirty and grimy bass style; Electro, Trap, Dubstep, and Drum n Bass. This duo keeps their originality by having Tessa Lizz on the Maschine finger drumming and rapping to their own original tracks and Matt putting on performances with his dancing, and mashing up tracks live right on the spot. They stay away from the mainstream music, striving to be different by filling their show with utmost entertainment. This basshead duo always brings the heat!
