YetepWe love good dubstep as much as the next headbanger, but sometimes the musicality gets lost in only caring about the drops and disregarding the rest of the track. SLANDER is a perfect example of dubstep that fights this issue. While they are definitely known for throwing down heavy sets, they’re also capable of creating really beautiful melodic dubstep. For example, “Superhuman” has a delicate, vibey feel, unlike their usual heavier dubstep. Their latest has the same feelsy melodies, but this time they’ve brought in the master of wobbly bass Spag Heddy to shake things up a bit.
Elle Vee’s ethereal and desperately emotive voice introduces the track with simple and calming instrumentals. Once that bassline starts to build up, though, we’re reminded that this is a SLANDER and SPAG HEDDY track. The high pitched snappy synths and ruthless bass will take you from crying in your feels to breaking your neck. Don’t say we didn’t warn you – the melody is beautiful, but this is still dubstep we’re talking about!
You can catch Slander AND Spag Heddy in February 2019 at our 10th Annual Crush Music Festival! Grab tickets here.
