YetepKimetrius Foose, who goes by the stage name Lil Skies is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Pennsylvania. Now 21, the artist began writing songs as early as four years old, thanks to being introduced to music by his father, fellow hip hop artist, Dark Skies. He graduated from high school in 2016 and attended college briefly before dropping out to focus on his music. His career gained traction in 2017, when he released his first mixtape, Alone. Later that year he released several singles, including the successful “Red Roses” ft. Landon Cube, which reached #69 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Lil Skies quickly caught the attention of Atlantic Records, who signed him on in partnership with his own label, All We Got Entertainment. His major label debut, Life of a Dark Rose, was released shortly after in 2018 and peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 chart. In March of 2019, the artist released his second full-length album, Shelby.
The rapper has been blowing up on online streaming platforms, and was recently dubbed, “one of SoundCloud’s most promising young acts.” Barely in his 20’s, Lil Skies is quickly becoming a household name. You can catch Lil Skies in action at this year’s Goldrush Festival, taking place at Rawhide Western Town on September 27th and 28th. Click here to get more info on the lineup and purchase tickets.
