YetepAfter taking the EDM world by storm over 4 years ago and relishing in a (by industry terms) lengthy absence that followed, French producer Hugo Pierre Leclercq, also known as Madeon, has come back with a summertime anthem that suddenly makes the wait for new music completely worth it. Leclercq makes his triumphant return with “All My Friends,” a groovy jam that features vocals from the producer himself over funky guitars and one of bounciest beats we’ve heard in quite a while. The chorus gives a heavy Daft Punk resemblance, and the instrumentals make this a lead candidate for song of the summer. You can check out “All My Friends” below.
The surprise drop came after a quick but vague twitter message with a link to goodfaith.world which featured a simple teaser and the reveal that his newest single would be available early as a physical copy in select cities. The official release followed a few days later and basically sent EDM twitter into a frenzy, understandably so considering the last official music we got from the Frenchman was the smash hit collaboration with Porter Robinson, “Shelter.” It seems as if the Shelter era is officially coming to a close and Madeon is ready to take on a new identity musically. New music has to be on the way, as Madeon prepares to bring a new live show to Lollapalooza this year, which seems like a completely reasonable place to bring in the Good Faith era.
