YetepGood things come in 3’s, and the best of those is BOOGIE T.RIO and their EPs. Boogie T on vocals and guitar is at the head of New Orleans musicians Andrew “Yano” Yanovski and Frank “Animal Drums” Castro, fusing his funky sound with their keys and percussion to form a live band reminiscent of Louisiana funk-rock. On his own, Boogie T has already tackled festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonaroo; and since their inception, BOOGIE T.RIO has also been jammin’ on the big stages, too. In addition to performing, BOOGIE T.RIO has released their third EP, Three The People. Listen below.
“Said It All,” “Far,” and “Too Thick To Bleed,” encompass and expand on the funk-rock fusion the band is notorious for. With vocals from both Boogie and Yano, Three The People possesses an old-school meets contemporary feel through their utilization of live elements, melodic breakdowns, and just enough bass to satisfy their legions of dub-inclined fans. In addition to the EP, they’ve also created visuals. With “Far,” the trio invites you into their world with a trippy animated music video that brings viewers straight into their swampy stomping grounds. Created by illustrator, animator, and art director/VJ for Boogie, KOOZ, “Far’s” visual companion is a nearly five-minute cartoon whose eye-popping colors and construction does ample justice to the vibrancy of the funk anthem.”
Three The People comes on the heels of the trio’s two prior EPs and their performances at Electric Forest, Voodoo Festival, Red Rocks, and more. Next up you can catch Boogie T doing a solo show at Goldrush on September 27th & 28th. Get your tickets here.
