SG Lewis Shows Us How to ‘Vibe Like This’

These are exciting times for fans of SG Lewis! Not only has the star of modern-day disco given us another double-release, but the London-based musician also announced his sophomore album, AudioLust & HigherLove. In addition to SG Lewis’ July releases (“Missing You” and “Something About Your Love”), his newest singles, “Vibe Like This” and “Infatuation,” will be featured on the album as well.

In his album announcement, SG Lewis stated: “Its a double album which explores the differing ways in which we approach love and relationships, and the cyclical nature of those feelings. The bulk of the album was written across a series of intensive studio residencies in the height of the pandemic, with the help of some incredibly talented friends, and allowed me to explore myself as an artist in a way that I would never have dared before.”

Featuring musical forces Ty Dolla $ign and Lucky Daye, “Vibe Like This” marries a retro audio aesthetic with the smooth sounds of R&B for the ultimate feel-good track. With its gliding piano keys, buttery vocals, and leisurely progression, “Vibe Like This” provides respite from this summer’s blazing heat. 

Its sister track, “Infatuation,” was revealed as the album’s opening track. Co-written with two of the album’s biggest collaborative forces, fellow musicians Ed Drewett and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, “Infatuation” dives back into the disco sounds Lewis is known for. Gritty guitar riffs and soaring synths carry the track as Lewis’ honeyed voice sings about an intoxicating, short-lived love—the AudioLust side of the album.
