Zeds Dead fans rejoice! The duo have already delivered six singles this year, including last month’s “The Machines” collaboration with Blanke, and now to everyone’s surprise, Zeds Dead announced two new singles exclusively available on Spotify. The double release includes a remix of one of Zeds Dead’s original tracks, as well as a rework of a classical composition.
Originally released in 2010, “Rude Boy” was Zeds Dead’s first official record. Prior to its release, the duo only had a couple of remixes under their name, including their now-legendary “Eyes on Fire” remix. Miraculously, DC and Hooks found the stems of “Rude Boy” and spent part of their time in the Spotify studio giving the track a facelift, transforming the downtempo, wobble-inducing record into a hard-hitting track with smooth, atmospheric drum and bass grooves.
If you’re unfamiliar with classical music, no worries—you’ve probably heard Bach’s Fugue in D Minor before. With its thundering organs and ghoulish soundscape, Bach’s composition has been the musical backdrop for countless horror flicks and pop culture moments. With surgical precision, DC and Hooks turn Bach’s masterpiece into a Frankenstein-like creation, part classical organs, part mind-melting bass.
