YetepICYMI: Powerhouse Australian talents Flume and Tkay Maidza recently dropped a fiery collab titled “Silent Assassin,” and it’s just the right amount of bad b*tch energy you need to get through the week. We won’t keep you waiting; check it out below.
We all know Flume, the highly acclaimed electronic musician and producer responsible for crafting some of the industry’s hardest-hitting tracks. Since his debut album in 2012 and the Grammy-winning 2016 sophomore effort, Skin, Flume’s rise to prominence has been nothing short of extraordinary. With a string of chart-topping collabs, boundary-pushing albums, and mixtapes surprising fans with unreleased gems, he showcases his versatility and innovation time and time again—making him the perfect match for Tkay.

Zimbabwe-born Australian singer and rapper Tkay Maidza burst onto the EDM scene in 2014 with her debut EP, Switch Tape. Drawing comparisons to established artists like Banks and M.I.A., Tkay’s unique artful pop and R&B-infused style quickly captivated audiences. Her singles “Switch Lanes” and “MOB” garnered widespread attention, leaving a mark on the charts and highlighting her exceptional talent. Since then, she’s continued to amaze with her bold and fearless approach to music, setting her apart as a rising star.

“Silent Assassin” marks the first of hopefully many collaborations between Tkay Maidza and Flume. Produced by Flume himself, this single showcases Tkay’s exceptional rap skills layered over Flume’s signature beats. Tkay’s empowering lyrics serve as a reminder to never underestimate her abilities and might even inspire listeners to embrace their own confidence. Adding to the excitement, the music video, directed by Milo Lee, was released simultaneously, adding another layer of intrigue and visual storytelling. Check it out HERE!
If you haven’t yet, be sure to drop this song into the queue for a much-needed midweek pick-me-up!
