YetepCalling all Zhumans! ZHU and Emotional Oranges have joined forces for their first-ever collaboration, and it’s a match made in heaven. Emotional Oranges is a duo consisting of two enigmatic creatives: “A” and “V.” The pair first formed in 2017 when “A”, an audio engineer for Drake, and “V”, a vocal coach for Adele, happened to meet in Los Angeles. Their latest single, “Not Like This,” features GRAMMY-nominated producer ZHU.
Delivered via Avant Garden, “Not Like This” is a sultry ode to a different kind of love. The smooth, melancholic beat pairs perfectly with the spiritual vocals, creating an undeniable vibe perfect for every moment.
Of the release, Emotional Oranges shared:
“This song calls for a cute lil story time situation. i (a) met @zhu back in 2014 while he was working on the nightday EP in a small studio in culver city. i was always inspired by his relentless dedication to the brand & vision of what he wanted his music, art and clothes to look and feel like. didn’t initially think our paths would cross musically but now i couldn’t think of a more perfect marriage. this is the first of a few ideas we’re working on & i’m happy af that we get to put it out independently.”
“Not Like This” will be on Emotional Oranges’ upcoming album, Still Emo, out on August 11th. ZHU also recently announced that he has a new album and era in the works. The new album is being recorded live in a cathedral, with many “revelations to come.”
ZHU will be returning to Arizona this fall! Catch ZHU alongside artists like Tiësto, Zeds Dead, and more at Goldrush: Sonoran Skies this October at the Phoenix Raceway. You can check out the rest of the lineup and purchase tickets here.
