ANOTR Releases ‘Talk To You’ With 54 Ultra

ANOTR has become a reliable source of fresh and boundary pushing house tracks over the past few years. Most casual fans might know them from their breakout track “Relax my Eyes,” which is the perfect track for summer vibes. Their latest release, “Talk To You,” feels familiar in that way, but not too familiar. It’s a bit slower and sounds more relaxed, ironically. It has the same melancholy vocal sound, but with production that shines like a hot summer day. I feel like I could listen to this track in the dead winter and convince myself it’s summer. It’s THAT good. It’s a feel-good track with synths that melt my problems away and makes me want to hit the pool.

54 Ultra is credited with the vocals on the track, and it’s released as a collaboration with ANOTR. In a world of artists not crediting vocalists at all, it’s always great to know that the vocalist I’m listening to is a real person. I also love a good sample, but I really appreciate when a new track hits this hard and isn’t something we already know people love. Creating something new is much harder, but much more rewarding when it’s done right.

54 Ultra’s catalog includes some soulful and slow tracks that you might find out at a cocktail bar. I don’t know how this collaboration happened, but I’m digging it. Established artists, as well as up-and-comers, could learn a thing or two about the types of collabs ANOTR is putting together. Less obvious vocal choices is the way to go. Push boundaries, get creative, try something new. That’s how electronic music has come this far in the first place, and that’s how it’ll continue to progress. Releasing it independently on their label No Art just makes it all the more impressive.
