YetepAt only 21 years old, German-born DJ and producer Infekt has established a name for himself in the world of dubstep and riddim. The artist took his first steps in music production at the mere age of 12 when he was immediately drawn to the sounds of dubstep. He honed his craft throughout his teenage years, allowing him to explore the wonky, darker side of dubstep. Today, Infekt has developed his own unique sound that differentiates him from the rest, making him a perfect candidate for this week’s DJ to Watch.
2013 saw the release of Infekt’s EP, Space Lurkin, featuring the warped, sluggish sounds we’ve come to love from the artist. The four-track EP set the foundation for what Infekt would come to grace us with in the following years.
In 2015, Infekt released his Fearless EP, which included the track still on top Riddim playlists everywhere – “Raptor 2015.” With its laid-back, wonky beat, “Raptor 2015″ will definitely have you bobbing your head.
In 2017, Infekt released the single “Prismalorg,” a successful riddim track that even Zeds Dead sampled in their set at EDC Las Vegas just this past May.
His latest EP, Journey to Mars, goes beyond filthy dubstep and riddim to take us on an adventure through bass and shifty rhythms.
While this may be the first time you see Infekt’s name, it won’t be the last. This DJ is on his way to the top. Don’t miss your chance to see him live at the Monarch Theatre on Saturday, July 14, alongside Oolacile and Murda. Grab your tickets here.
