YetepItalian duo Lush & Simon are back for the summer on Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings imprint. Armed with their usual brand of aggressive progressive house, the duo is mixing it up with techno influences on their newest single, “Callin.”
Lush & Simon – Callin’
With a fusion of dark elements contradicting brighter sounds, the track later incorporates an unusually funky bassline and frantic synths, building up to a rhythmically melodic breakdown. As the distorted vocal lines come into play, “Callin” starts to show its roots within the world of Techno as well as sprinkles from Drum & Bass with its unconventional percussion pattern. As a solo track, the duo firmly stands on their own in a world of soundalikes and imitators without any outside creative interference. Even in its most basic form, Paris & Simo’s new single contains a heavy “greatest hits” vibe in terms of its bombastic and unapologetic diversion from a traditional house.
