YetepFor bass fans around the world, 8/08 is a very important holiday: it’s the perfect time to celebrate that 808 kick drum that has created so many of our favorite beats. This year, Shlump made 8/08 even more special with the release of his Lazer Beam EP on Zed’s Dead label, Deadbeats.
Shlump—otherwise known as Santa Cruz native, Michael Pretzel—teased fans several weeks ago by featuring a few Lazer Beam songs on his Spaceship Mix. Now, with the full release of the EP, Shlump offers up six new tracks, all full of his signature heavy wobble and alien atmosphere.
Lazer Beam proves that Shlump will be one to watch this year. He was also just announced for Bassnectar’s highly-anticipated debut festival in Mexico, Deja Voom.
Get your fill of Shlump’s alien bass by streaming the EP below or downloading it here.
