YetepObviously, we are fans of the funky stuff here at Relentless. Anything that gets us groovin’ is cool with us. However, what happens when two of electronic music’s leaders in funk come together? Well, it’s a given that the listeners are going to get funked up. Both GRiZ and Boogie T have been playing their newest fusion of reggae/riddim “Supa Fly” while on the road, and fans have been eager for an official release after hearing just how groovy it is live. The boys delivered with not only the official single, but a remix pack that gathers the help of some huge names in the EDM community. Dubstep legend Rusko, UK duo Gentlemen’s Club, and a double DJ dose of Jantsen and Dirt Monkey all put their original spins on the track, and each tune is just as good as the next. You can check out “Supa Fly” and the accompanying remixes below.
It takes a special track to have this many artists (especially of this caliber) jump on it and make it into their own. GRiZ and Boogie both brought their unique flare onto the original, which was a masterpiece in itself. Their artistry and ear for a good track clearly clicked, as they have brought on some heavy hitters to the remixes who saw the potential in the song, and supported it enough to create their own version of it. GRiZ and Boogie have some obvious chemistry since each of their styles are heavily influenced by live instrumentals and chest shaking bass, both of which are intertwined in their latest release. The much anticipated tune was most definitely worth the wait as the final product is dare I say…… supa fly.
