Relentless Beat of the Week: The Glitch Mob & LICK – ‘System Bleed’

The Glitch Mob, comprised of musicians Justin Boreta, Ed Ma, and Joshua Mayer, have been cultivating an aesthetic and sound combination of nostalgia and distinctive live electronic sound since their inception. Tremendous festival stages like bassPOD at EDC Las Vegas have borne from their speakers The Glitch Mob’s meticulous sound design, so it’s no surprise that nearly every producer in the industry salivates at the idea of a collaboration with the trio. Recently, The Glitch Mob invited heavy-hitting bass producer LICK onto the stage at this year’s EDC, igniting the potential of a forthcoming collab amongst the four. After teasing the release for months, LICK and The Glitch Mob have finally released their collab together, aptly titled “System Bleed.” Listen below for the Relentless Beat of the Week.

“System Bleed” is the first in a series of collaborative singles that The Glitch Mob plan on releasing for the rest of the year, and LICK proves to be an intimidating first collaborator. “System Bleed” oozes growling bass with infusions of meticulous high-pitched glitch sounds, with LICK’s signature bass melodies surging as a powerful force. LICK has been dominating the scene recently, with two EPs released in the last year (one being released on Deadbeats) and another successful collaboration with Whipped Cream.

The Glitch Mob will be finishing their Alchemy Tour with NGHTMRE, SLANDER, and Seven Lions on October 13 – you can get your tickets here. In addition, LICK will be joining Sullivan King on his Thank You For Raging tour. Find tickets for his Flagstaff show at The Greenroom on November 7th here and tickets for The Pressroom on November 8th here.
