YetepThe past year has been a big one for producers to open up and dabble in various subgenres of electronic music outside their own. Included in these producers is fan favorite Seven Lions. The melodic bass master is known for mixing in many different styles in his music and throughout his sets, but the time has come for him to officially break out his psytrance skills. Seven Lions has recently announced his newest and latest alias, Abraxis, a collab project with his fellow producer duo Dimibo. The trio’s project had been teased since June of this year via social media accounts for their fictional Abraxis Institue, but with its official announcement this month came a single, as well. Give “Old Gods,” the first lecture from the Abraxis Institue, a listen below.
If you are unfamiliar with Dimibo, they are a progressive and psytrance duo out of the Pacific Northwest and have been releasing music via Seven Lions’ Ophelia Records imprint. This collaboration has been very anticipated as the Abraxis men have performed together a handful of times, including EDC Las Vegas 2018, Paradiso 2018, and Electric Forest 2019, prior to ever announcing this project. The official debut of Abraxis will be this month at Dreamstate in Southern California, which you do not want to miss! Future releases have been unmentioned by the trio, but there is a teaser on the Abraxis website for a track titled, “Black Rainbow,” following a small fictional themed survey that inducts you into the Abraxis Institute. We can only hope for more from Seven Lions and Dimibo’s phenomenal psytrance collab.
