YetepForeign Family Collective is always introducing us to the latest and greatest indie-electronic artists from around the world. One of their newly signed artists, Mild Minds, an Australian native producer, born Benjamin David, is due to release his debut album on Odesza’s well-loved label this year and we are stoked. Mild Minds has a colorful and unique house-driven yet ambient sound you do not want to overlook. Taking inspiration from incredible producers such as Tycho, Caribou, and Four Tet, and recently touring with Big Wild, we know we will be in for a treat. Luckily, the wait will not be much longer as Mild Minds has released the album’s third single, “Walls,” along with announcing that MOOD will be out March 13th. Give “Walls,” featuring lyrics by the band Boats, a listen below.
Both Mild Minds and Boats poured their hearts out into “Walls” and it shows! The track highlights internal and interpersonal walls we build every day and how things can be great on the other side of that wall. The artists also note that the track could be taken in a political sense if the listener connected with it in that way. Mild Minds creates a beautiful, uplifting yet dance-driven melody for Boats’ warm vocals to float over. “Walls” will have you moving and grooving more than you expect. We look forward to Mild Minds’ upcoming album MOOD and his forward-thinking sound.
