YetepI’m currently in the middle of a Nyx kick. Leandros Liasides, aka Nyx exploded onto the trance scene last year, receiving some playlist love from Paul van Dyk, Aly & Fila, Paul Oakenfold, Max Graham and Armin van Buuren, blasting a Nyx track during an ASOT600 session.
One of his latest reputation builder is his Monster Tunes labeled track ‘Itaca’. Released earlier this year, it came to my attention during my recent Nyx binge.
The song creates a truely trance-tastic vibe, reassuring melodies and a pounding 140 bpm. The groove flows so smoothly and quickly, floating up a short build and then being whisked away by a bumping bass.
‘Itaca’ is the perfect example of the type of trance that speeds your heart up in an excited, butterflies type of way. It fills you with happiness, while pushing your body to move and pulling your hand into the air.
Though a couple months old by now, this song should be topping trance charts currently, along with other recent Nyx tracks, ‘Kyro‘ and ‘Zodiac‘. If Nyx’s future tunes are anything like his past releases, we have a lot to look forward to.
